Wedding Party
We've got a great group of friends joining us as our official wedding party. In fact, they're cool enough they get their own page.
Attendants of the Bride:
- Amy Martin - College roommate and best friend of the bride - Amy and I have been friends since high school. I remember not liking her when we first met, but we've gotten past that. We were active in 4-H and youth group together and share a language of grunts.
- Afra Weaver - College friend and fellow German - Afra, Amy and I took on St. Thomas More's at WSU and it will never be the same. Between being Catholic and avid beer tasters, we've always had quite a bit to rant about.
- Amy Anderton - Portland friend - Amy was originally a friend of James' but when I came into the group, she and I hit it off. We share a strange sense of humor, a love of the beach, and a love of Oregon beer.
- Emily Heytvelt - College friend - Em and I met at WSU through a mutual friend and a women's lit class. Luckily, we survived the class. We bonded over country swing, Young Riders and dive bars.... It's been hilarious.
- Kristy Vetter - Sister of the bride - Kristy can make conversation with a rock. It's amazing and a talent I hope to someday emulate. I was particularly impressed (and rather jealous) this summer when she learned to double-buck for the Buckley Log Show.
Attendants of the Groom:
- Joseph Lynch - Brother of the groom - We met when I was 3½ years old. Joe got me interested in mountain climbing after several of his friends did the same to him.
- Brandon Moreno - Former coworker and housemate - During college we saved the campus from all manner of horific telecommunications calamities together. Had fortune favored us, we also would have gotten to see a space shuttle launch.
- Brandon Wedam - Former classmate and housemate - Growing up in the same area, we shared a common amusement with city folk. We worked on projects together in school and occassionally terrorize rock bass off the Tillamook jetty.
- John Asay - College roommate and classmate - John was the wild guy I got stuck with freshman year. It worked out well. Along with others we built a racecar for our senior project. He also taught me how to TIG weld.
- Dustin Digmann - Former coworker and fellow beer critic - Along with Brandon, Dustin helped keep working for telecom, and later living in Portland, interesting.
Presider:
- Fr. Nicholas Wichert - Friend of the bride and groom - Kerry met Fr. Nick first, but when he was just Nick, and was good friends with his sisters. Kerry, James, and Nick all attended St. Mary's together, and were thrilled in June 2010 to witness his ordination. When it was time to choose a priest to officiate, the choice was easy.
Notice how Kerry and I each have two people in our respective parties who share the same name? It's just one of the many things we've have in common.
